Submitted an entry for the Truveo Developer Challenge powered by Topcoder for searching for videos and setting up alerts to be notified when new videos that match your search query get indexed by the Truveo video crawler.
The user interface is a purely visual one since it is more natural to search for visual content (i.e images, videos) by matching the video's metadata like the title, description etc with the thumbnail image you'll see before you click on that play button otherwise you could get rick rolled :).
The alerts can be via email, twitter direct messages (if you follow the user http://twitter.com/videoalerts on Twitter) or by simply copying the RSS URL into your feed reader.
Adobe Flex 3, ActionScript 3.0 along with Doug McCune's uber cool CoverFlow component here were used for the user interface which is viewable in Adobe Flash 9 enabled browsers.
